Things to Do on the Beach

Lamai Beach on Koh Samui is really perfect for swimming. The sea at Lamia Beach is turquoise blue and amazingly warm. Particularly at the south of the beach are the optimal conditions for swimming. Also, at this part the beach is the most scenic.

The area around the Lamai has a really good tourist infrastructure. Compared to Chaweng Beach, this beach is a bit quaint and cheaper. During a walk at the beach, you will still find some good restaurants, massage options and beach bars.

For snorkeling, the Lamai Beach is actually not that recommended. In general, there are only a few places for snorkeling on Koh Samui. Anyway, you'd better go on a snorkeling trip and visit the neighboring islands like Koh Phangan, Koh Tao or the Ang Thong National Park.

A holiday on Lamai Beach is ideal for those who like it quiet during the day, but still like to enjoy some nightlife in the evening. An optimal mix of hustle and bustle. During the day, the tourists are spread out on the long sandy beach, so everyone will find an undisturbed spot under the sun. In the evening there is a promenade, the Lamai Beach Road to go for a stroll, shopping and dining out.

Although the nightlife on Lamai Beach on Koh Samui is not so vibrant as on the famous Chaweng Beach, there are still some cool bars, pubs with live music, cocktail bars, beer bars and clubs where DJs are playing. We promise, you won´t get bored anyway. Most nightlife can be found along the Lamai Beach Road and its side streets.
